We are in boat moving mode again. In a minute, some highlights.

As for the highlights, since my last blog entry we have:
o Concluded our Shetland experience with a nature harbor anchorage in Grotness Voe near the southern tip of the Shetland Mainland.
o Experienced the stunning setting of Fair Isle during a long walk through a bird sanctuary to the island’s museum where Jocelyn happened upon some Fair Isle knitters. (She promises a blog entry on this soon.)
o Sailed 50 miles to Pierowall, a small fishing village on the northwestern-most Orkney island of Westray, where we were glad to be tied to a dock as gale force winds and rain lashed our boat. These conditions did not stop us from walking to the local pub for a couple of pints of Orkney ale.
o Took in a K.T. Tunstall concert in Kirkwall, Orkney’s largest town, which was produced as part of the 2011 Tall Ships Race.
o Enjoyed a 60-mile broad reach outside the Pentland Firth, the channel separating the northeast tip of Scotland from the Orkney Islands, reputed to have the strongest tidal streams on the planet.
Tomorrow, we awake for a 4:30 a.m. departure from Wick, Scotland, to ensure a favorable tide into Inverness, the starting point of our transit through the Caledonian Canal. Watch this spot for further updates.
